On
22nd May 1980, Dart Express Singapore
was incorporated under the stewardship
of its MD, Simon Ho. This company
is a joint-partnership with its corporate
HQ in Hong Kong. Mr. Joseph Pang is
the Chairman while Mr. John Kan is
the Executive Director of Dart Express
Group.
From a humble beginning, the air freight
consolidation and forwarding activities
were centralized at a 900 square feet
warehouse cum office space located
at Paya Lebar. There were only 12
personnel in the team to handle all
activities ranging from cargo palletization,
packing, labelling, cutting of Air
waybills, preparation of custom declarations
to lodging in of the consignment to
the air line terminals.
The company since then has achieved
continuous progress till today. It
occupies a 3780 square feet warehouse
cum office space within the Changi
International Airport free trade zone
(FTZ) which has complete cargo handling
facilities, good security & computer
controlled terminals.
Apart
from this expansion, the company has
also bought a warehouse from Jurong
Town Corporation (JTC) specially catered
for the needs of logistics and distribution
activities. The warehouse has an area
of 25,462 square feet. It is situated
at No. 39 Loyang Drive, only 5 kilometres
away from Changi International Airport.
The warehouse has offered invaluable
support to American and European companies
that rely on Distribution Centre (DC)
in Singapore as a hub for distribution
of their goods to regional countries
in Asia.
In
1996 obtained ISO 9002 and has EDI
facilities for easy access communication
and shipments tracking between Dart
Group. The staff strength has now
increased to a total of 72 staff members.
Dart
Express presently handles the account
of some MNCs such as Abit Computer,
Foxconul, Han Hai Precision, Virginia
Services, Allied Telesyn, Adidas Singapore,
Hawker Pacific, Multitech Systems,
Mitutoyo , Creative Technology, Compaq
etc. All inbound and outbound shipments
are handled using our Dartl network,
associate offices and customs brokers.
